I’ld like to apologise for the number of links in this blog, you can skip them if you want to but they illustrate what I have to say, and I’m properly pissed off😠

I’ve seen several posts on X from far right sources, I can’t seem to avoid them, objecting to the UK accepting any Palestinian refugees although I didn’t have a clue where this idea comes from. I haven’t seen any suggestion that many refugees want to come here despite their homes having been reduced to rubble – and our own contribution to the destruction shouldn’t be ignored as it imposes a greater responsibility for remediating the situation so Palestinians can return to their homes.

I think these idiots are jumping on Trump’s bandwagon. He’s made it clear that he sees Gaza as a prime piece of real estate worth development, but not for the sake of Palestinians. They need to be removed to Jordan and Egypt, I don’t know who’s sugggested that child refugees might come here. It seems that one Palestinian family has applied for asylum under a scheme intended for Ukrainian refugees and Starmer, pandering to the far right again, has vowed to close the loophole. The likes of Nigel Farage (if not him personally) have multiplied this out of all proportion to the reality. They’re not even bothering to camouflage their monstrous hatred:

I’m seeing a lot of right-wing crap on X, I can’t call it Twitter anymore, and I’m thoroughly disgusted 😠. I can’t escape it even if I protect my tweets, I’ve blocked Musk, Starmer and Lammy but there are many more accounts I don’t want to see but they’re pushed in my face. I’ve noticed that he follows me although I hadn’t heard of him previously. I’ve blocked him because he appears on my timeline frequently with a pack of Farageist velociraptors snapping at his heels. I’ve better things to do than engage in political blood sports 😠

All these people have the same neo-colonialist mindset, they no longer make the excuse of bettering the lives of indigenous people – they’re quite frank about extracting as much profit as they can at the expense of the both the native population and the environment. I think better things might be coming from an unexpected direction, more about that in a later blog when I’ve had time to assimilate what I’m learning.

I feel like packing it in, and will do so sooner rather than later! I said I would stay on X until my premium subscription expires in June, but I I doubt if I can last that long! There are a few things that are easier on X – for example, there’s no provision for me to tag multiple comrades or save drafts – but I hope to find a way to work around those problems. Many websites now offer an option to share to Bluesky and I’m sure others will come on board as the platform is more developed. To share anything from YouTube, which I do a lot, I have to post first to X and copy it to Bluesky. I hope YouTube will make it easier before long.

I’ve just discovered I’m being impersonated, I’ve tried reporting it to X but I need to take a selfie holding up government issued ID. I’ve had enough!
