Less Talk, More Action

I see several comrades advocating military intervention to stop the genocide in Gaza although I’ve seen no plans on which military force should intervene. It would need to be a UN force from countries not aligned to US or Israel, and I don’t see it happening.

The pictures of starving children that are coming out of Gaza appears to belatedly awakened the consciences of our politicians that have been dormant for 19 months, but they’re but it’s the pictures that disturb them rather than the reality – they’ve no problem with Palestinian children being starved as long as their tender senses aren’t offended by the sight of it happening. They’re doing the bare minimum required for PR purposes, like summoning Israeli ambassadors to give them a telling off and threatening concrete action with no indication of what those actions might be.

David Lammy deserves an Emmy for his performance of a politician outraged about the recent behaviour of a country he hitherto supported. Oh dear David, never mind, you still have a job for the time being! You can watch his performance here. https://youtu.be/uiU_r0Fph00?si=Bltm2hYIWl0eqafW

,It’s not about caring for children dying, it’s all about looking good. They’ll do bugger all to stop the starvation The appearance of doing something can influence one’s political career with less effort than confronting reality. Netenyahu knows that but he’s insane and goes ahead anyway because he’s fucked whatever he does.

Even Tom Fletcher, the most senior UN official responsible for humanitarian affairs, insists that no humanitarian aid should be allowed go Hamas. I’ve no idea how he intends to implement or justify his plan even if Israel agree, and there’s no indication that they’ll do so Here’s his speech at the U.N. so you can judge for yourself https://youtu.be/GqP4zwbZxoU?si=lBpAJjcJbjlEg7UB

I don’t quite know what to make of the murder of an Israeli couple in Washington DC, there’s no evidence so far that they were specifically targeted because they worked in the embassy nor is there any suggestion that anyone else was involved – although I’m sure a few more scapegoats can be found if required. My initial response was to to suspect a false flag, I can’t understand it otherwise. Many comrades believe it was but I’m not prepared to make such a definite statement yet. What I am prepared to say it’s that seems to have happened at a very convenient time, when Netenyahu is facing mild criticism from some of his best friends among western leaders and will be very useful for propaganda purposes.

Conscious that his policy of starvation doesn’t look good to his “best friends” Netenyahu has allowing a bare minimum of aid into Gaza but it’s just a sick joke!

Israel Hasn’t Sent ‘Aid’ Into Gaza, It Sent The Sickest Of Messages! https://youtu.be/MZ8AMtYJtAQ?si=Kj88FoPfrimLI7JT

Netenyahu has made it perfectly clear that he intends to go through with his project of ethnic cleansing while appeasing the sensitivities of his “friends” – who are quite easily appeased as their faux outrage is a minimal response to a popular action they’ve failed to suppress.

“Our best friends in the world — senators I know as strong supporters of Israel — have warned that they cannot support us if images of mass starvation emerge. We must avoid famine, both for practical reasons and diplomatic ones. Without international backing, we won’t be able to complete the mission of victory. We need to do it in a way that they won’t stop us.”

He has to appear to be doing something to retain the support of his “best friends” but they’re not asking much. Britain, France and Canada have put out a joint statement threatening sanctions while continuing to supply arms for the continuation of the genocide. Starmer, Macron and Carney need to realise that Netenyahu is handing you titbits while laughing in your face!

What Netenyahu has always demanded, and western governments have gone along with, is the unconditional surrender of Hamas, which means “ stop resisting and allow us to take over your land and murder your people”. Guess what! Hamas are not the baddies, but I could go to jail for saying that.

Those who thought October 7 2023 was bad ain’t seen nothing yet! Hamas have no other options than to lay down their arms and consent to the genocide, or to fight back with any means possible! I hope they’ll choose the heroic option as they have nothing to lose but a land reduced to rubble!

  1. A very perceptive piece, Mike. Our very late efforts to condemn the genocide taking place in Gaza can only be seen as an effort to cover our backs. Netanyahu has no intention of stopping, he is intent on creating a ‘Greater Israel’. Will the West sit back while he carves chunks out of other countries, or, god forbid, help him? Solidarity
