The US is sending USS Tripoli to the Middle East, along with its Marine expeditionary unit, which can conduct ground operations. The USS Tripoli is an amphibious assault ship — which functions almost like a small aircraft carrier. The US first announced it was deploying 2,500 marines then quickly changed the figure to 5,000. While Starmer wavers, King Charles III has officially cancelled his scheduled trip to America to express disapproval of Trump’s illegal war in Iran.
Latest reports have 10 nations refusing to assist Trump in opening the Strait of Hormuz while 30 are negotiating with Iran for permission to pass through and a Pakistani ship has already done so. It would be impossible to be selective about who is allowed through if Iran had mined the Strait, so the minesweeping drones that Trump doesn’t have would be useless. To put it simply, he’s up Shit Creek and crying out for someone to give him a paddle!

Benjamin Netenyahu confirms that rumours of his death are greatly exaggerated.
“The Strait of Hormuz is not closed in general, it is closed only to America and its allies, and we will continue this policy as long as the attacks continue,” Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi told Drop Site News.
Iran has insisted that, in any ceasefire negotiations would seek reparations for the damage done during the U.S.-Israeli bombing and demand that the U.S. withdraw its military presence in the Persian Gulf. Tehran would only consider a ceasefire if it also included Lebanon and Iraq and was certified by the United Nations Security Council.

US Energy Secretary Chris Wright has been accused of manipulating global markets after he posted on X that the US Navy had “successfully escorted an oil tanker through the Strait of Hormuz to ensure oil remains flowing. The post was deleted minutes later, after “oil prices slid at their steepest pace in years,”
Joseph Kent, head of the National Counterterrorism Center, is the first senior member of U.S. President Donald Trump’s administration to resign over the war in Iran.
“I cannot in good conscience support the ongoing war in Iran. Iran posed no imminent threat to our nation, and it is clear that we started this war due to pressure from Israel and its powerful lobby,” he wrote in a letter to Trump posted on X. Via Reuters
Regarding the conflict in the Middle East, my MP had this to say in an email:
The Foreign and Commonwealth Development Office has asked any British nationals in the area to register their presence with the local embassy. You can find the relevant pages here: https://www.gov.uk/government/news/foreign-office-travel-advice-updates Flights chartered by the Government have been taking off from Oman, returning thousands of British citizens home, and we will continue to work to get people home safely.

Unite the Union has decided to cut its affiliation to the Labour Party by more than 40 per cent because of the government’s failure to resolve the Birmingham bin strike. Some of the money saved in affiliation fees will go towards paying court fines imposed in the course of the dispute.
Two protesters at an animal testing site were arrested by police officers who didn’t have a clue why they were arresting them, they’d just been told “arrest someone”!
Thursday 19 March
Jeremy Corbyn has submitted the Gaza Tribunal report, which documents British complicity in war crimes and genocide, to the International Criminal Court.
I want to see this war end as quickly as possible. The longer it continues, the bigger the impact on the cost of living. The best way forward is a negotiated settlement.
Cur Starmer
The problem is that you can’t negotiate with someone who keeps murdering your negotiators!
Friday 20 March
The JFK Library Foundation has announced that the people of Minneapolis and St. Paul, will receive a 2026 John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage Award, one of the most prestigious civic honors in America, for their resistance to ICE.
Jeremy Corbyn on X: Donald Trump has admitted that he bombed Iran “out of habit.” Our government has given this man permission to use our bases for an illegal, unprovoked and unjustified war of aggression.
I’ve been promoting a petition for FIFA to ban on Isreal competing in international football. Someone objected that FIFA had rejected the proposal as if that settled the matter, it doesn’t!
Saturday 21 March
Chargossians were expelled from Diego Garcia to make a military base that the US is now using to attack Iran, and warmongering politicians are moaning because Iran has chosen to fight back by launching two missiles with a greater range than they were thought capable of.
Sunday 22 March
Iran denies launching missiles at Diego Garcia, which gives us two choices:
- We believe a state sponsor of terrorism with a propensity for lying.
- We believe Iran.
The missiles were conveniently intercepted before reaching their target, and the weight of evidence indicates that this is a false flag intended to persuade us that Iran has longer range missiles than was previously thought. An Israeli submarine shot the ballistic missiles toward Diego Garcia according to Russian and Chinese satellites. Furthermore, the RAF has confirmed that it wasn’t Iran who fired a missile at
Iran is not a danger to Europe, Israel is! They’re moaning about Iranian attacks on Tel Aviv and begging western powers to come charging to the rescue like the US Cavalry. This would give Iran a reason to retaliate if they had the will and the power to do so, which at present they don’t.
Israel and USA have got themselves into a mess they can’t get out of. If they had the military might they wouldn’t need help from other nations, and diplomacy won’t work because they can’t be trusted. There is one other option that scarcely bears think about, but with maniac in the White House and a psychopath at the Department of War it’s a distinct possibility.
Trump has just threatened to bomb every power plant in Iran if they don’t open the Strait of Hormuz without threat within 48 hours, I don’t think Iran has a time machine 🤔
Nation Magazine has announced that they have officially nominated the People of Minneapolis for the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize. There’s no doubt that they deserve it but I have two caveats:
- I’m not sure that the magazine has standing to nominate anyone, that would need to be checked and I don’t have the time.
- Last year’s abominable award has devalued it to such an extent that I doubt they’ld want it, although the money would contribute to reparations for the harm done by ICE!
Monday 23 & Tuesday 24 March
The attack on 4 Jewish ambulances has sparked a lot of discussion of why a Jewish community should have its own ambulances, or it’s own police force! The most absurd post I saw on X was from someone who asked, “Why do Muslims have mosques, no other religion has them?” He didn’t ask why Jews have synagogues or Christians have churches.
I’m not saying it was a false flag, although many people believe it was, but it smells distinctly fishy and the Iranian passport found on the scene is an obvious red herring. I don’t want to go into details here, it’s had plenty of coverage on social media, but calling it an “antisemitic attack” is premature and could obscure further enquiry.
Trump fell asleep in a press conference in which he blamed Pete Hogsbreath for pushing him into the war in Iran, although he didn’t need any encouragement. It appears that someone has advised JD Vance to invoke the 25th Amendment and replace the Trump as president pro tem. Vance, who undoubtedly has greater knowledge than I do I vascilating, no doubt thinking about which side his bread is buttered. If he vacillates to long it will fall on the carpet, buttered side down!
Trump has gone back on his plan to bomb energy plants in Iran if they don’t open the Strait of Hormuz, and that negotiations are in progress. Iran says it ain’t so and I believe them. Why would anyone on earth expect trump to negotiate in good faith?
Israel won’t back down even though it can’t win without US support. It’s a zero sum game in which nobody wins and any possibility of reaching any sort of agreement is made impossible by their failure to communicate
The USS Gerald Ford has been deployed for 260 days when maximum is supposed to be 220. With blocked toilets and random fires that put the ship out of action it appears the crew are are taking industrial action short of mutiny.
Wednesday 25 March
Two oil tankers are on their way to Cuba with a destroyer escort, from Russia with love. Canada, Mexico, Spain and Brazil are also sending aid. Jeremy Corbyn, Richard Burgon and Kneecap have been there with a flotilla to try and help break the blockade.
Israelis are fleeing in their thousands but where to is more than I can say, several countries have started mass demonstrations of Israelis (no doubt taking a page out of Trumps book). A government minister is reportedly trying to buy a few Greek islands, I wish him lotsa luck with – all bad!
Thursday 26 March
I’ve just updated my OS and I’m now being asked for proof of age using a credit card or driving licence, and I have neither! My debit card is fine for making payments but can’t be used for this purpose, nor can my bus pass although it’s ok for voting despite the photo looking nothing like me (short hair, no beard). Now that I’m free of debt I may be able to apply for a credit card to use just for this purpose, I’ll wait and see, I don’t appear to be any more restricted than I was before. It was credit card borrowing that got me into debt in the first place, and I’ve a large enough bank balance that I don’t need credit.
The Government has started the consultation on the proposals to deliver an effective and enforceable ban on trail hunting in England and Wales https://consult.defra.gov.uk/defra/trail-hunting-consultation/ It will run until Thursday 18th June.
Saturday 28 March
White House insiders tell us that Trump is ‘bored’ with the war in Iran so it seems he’s decided to make it more interesting. Dr. Jill Stern reports that warned night Trump extended his deadline by 10 days for Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz or face attacks against its energy infrastructure. Iran had already made it clear that if its power plants were attacked, it would destroy all power plants and desalination plants in the region. This morning the US attacked Iran’s Khondab power plant, proving once again the US can’t be trusted.
In other news, Hezbollah have destroyed 50 Israeli tanks, the Houthis have launched a missile at Israel, and the USS Gerald R Ford is out of action and heading back to the States.
Many of ships are starting to pass through Strait of Hormuz again. Iran has reportedly approved all foreign ships for passage at a $2 million fee, excluding Israeli and American vessels. Charging a toll may be illegal but neither Israel not the USA care about international law.
US Troops are refusing to fight in Iran War. Mike Prysner of the Center on Conscience and War joins Zeteo to discuss the opposition inside the military, while the media are either loudly banging the war drums or ignoring the level of dissent.
Starmeroids have been all over X for the last few days telling us how great a Prime Minister he is, he must be getting desperate!
